That is the recorded feeling of one of many visitors after visiting the exhibition on “Finding Memories” opened by Hoa Lo Prison Monument Management Unit on November 29th, 2017 on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu aerial battle” victory.

After more than half a month, the exhibition attracted more than 14,000 visitors. With the innovated content and form, the exhibition on “Finding Memories” has received various positive feedback from veterans, scientists, professionals and visitors at home and abroad. Without forcing viewers to follow a theoretical or one-side propaganda way, “Finding Memories” is exhibited by an interactive storytelling method, giving visitors a true, objective, and multi-dimensional look on the content mentioned. It is this breakthrough that has attracted the public.

Foreign visitors to the exhibition on “Finding Memories”

After more than half a month since the exhibition’s opening, Hoa Lo Prison Monument Management Unit has received hundreds of reviews from travellers all over the world recorded in the review book. Each photo or object or each story on an event or a character within the exhibition brings different levels of emotions, helping viewers more value the peace and jointly build up the future.

Ms. Linda Mell from the United States wrote: “It is an emotional experience. I lost a few relatives and friends in this war. I feel very fortunate to visit your great country and meet the warm and wonderful people. I want to learn more about the smile and beauty of Vietnam”

Coming from the UK, Mr. Jack Armstrong shared: “War is a terrible mistake, so many people were killed. What is its purpose?”

Mr. Tom Swift, from the United States, wrote: “Back in the 1960s, some of my friends and I in the United States tried to stop this unjust war, we opposed the war. It is very precious to visit your country and meet wonderful people.”

Mr. Shirley Temple confided: “Very moving and humane. The highlight of the exhibition is the strength, solidarity and extraordinary spirit of the Vietnamese people.”

Ms. Fiona Scott wrote: “The Vietnamese people are honest, kind, hospitable and strongly brave. They are amazing people.”
