On the morning of the 7th January, Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports convened a Conference on the implementation of culture and sports activities of 2016. Attending the Conference were Mr. Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Le Hong Son, member of Ha Noi Party Standing Committee, Vice Chaiman of Ha Noi People’s Committee, leaders representing Ha Noi city Party Committee, Municipal People’s Council, Fatherland Front Committee, other City departments and branches, together with outstanding representatives from districts, towns, sub-districts.
The year of 2015 marked the final milestone in the implentation of the 5-year socio-economic development plan of 2011-2015, during which a plenty of events, major national days had been held. Under the directives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ha Noi city Party Committee, Municipal People’s Council and Ha Noi People’Committee, the culture and sports sector of Ha Noi had made all efforts to successfully fulfil its set objectives and taskes. Directional and operational work under the leadership of Ha Noi Department of Culture and sports and the entire sector had brought into full effects in all fields. The state management had achieved positive outcomes. The Department of Culture and Sports had been continuing to concentrate on the execution of schemes, projects under the No. 04 Programme initiated by Ha Noi Party Committee, and the schemes, projects tasked by Ha Noi People’s Committee for 2015.
To realize the Year of City’s Order and Civilization Keeping, Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports had reinforced the disciplines and orders within the city, especially in the aspects of advertising order and civilized behaviours in public. In addition, the Department had countinuously improved visual propaganda means in service of political mission, hence making a considerable contribution to the City’s facade to be bighter, greener, cleaner and more attractive.
2015 was also the year the Department of Culture, sports and Tourism had played a good role as City’s designated permanent agency in succesfully organizing activities in support of the political events and great national days of the country as well as the city, particularly activities celebrating the 85th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the fruitful Congress of the International Parliament Union – 132, the 125th anniversay of Late President Ho Chi Minh’s Birth Day, the 40th anniversary of the South Libration and National Reunification, the 70th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day the 2nd September, the City Emulation Conference for the 2010 – 2015 period, and especially activities in celebration of the 16th Party Congress of the city.
The cultural and art activities had boisterously and widely been performed, meeting the requirements of substance, desire, quality and enjoying needs for culture and arts among people. The state administration in cultural service business had made many prgresses. The heritage management had obtained great achievements. The family affairs had been conducted from the grasroots level. The organization and management of festivals had brought about more postive changes compared to the previous years.
Ha Noi sports sector continued to maintain a leading position at domestic and international tournaments with 2.041 medals of all types and had overfulfilled the set targets when participating at the 28th Seagames held in Singapore, achieving respectively 68 out of total 186 medals with 25 out of 73 gold medals of the entire Viet Nam sports delegation, specializing in such strong Olympic sports as fencing, rowing, track and field, apparatus exercise,.. The movement of mass sports had developed extensively with 67 organized tournaments participated by 29.514 atheletes. “Olympic running day for all people’s healths” had been widespreaded at a great number of communes, sub-districts, towns in the whole city. The installation of outdoor physical and sporting apparatuses at the city’s inner districts had approved to be highly effective.

In order to come to a clearer picture of the outcomes the culture and sports sectors had achieved in the last year of 2015, the get-together wenton hearing 4 presentations on the renewal of the visual propaganda aimed at political purposes of the city, inspection and verification of culture and sports activities, culture and sports management at Long Bien district’s area and building of the cultural life for Ba Vi ethnic minority group. All of the papers had pointed out the results, at the same time put forth practical and essential proposals, contributing to the common achievements of the Capital’s culture and sports sector.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Le Hong Son, Ha Noi Party Standing Committee Member, Vice Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee noted with appreciation the achievements the cultre and sports sector of Ha Noi had obtained during 2015, prominently the activities in service of political objectives and in celebration of important anniversary days of Ha Noi and the nation. He also stressed the culture and sports sector should endevour to bring the Code of Conducts at Public Areas into life with the aim of creating a new impetus in building a model of elegant and civilized hanoians. Conservation of dowgraded and extremely ruined relics should be intensified, as these are people’s invaluable treasures, and more investments should be meant for cultural institutions to make it possible for all people to access to the communal life.

In response of Mr. Vice Chairman’s ideas, Mr. To Van Dong, Ha Noi Party Committee member, Director of Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports expressed thanks for his sound guidances and reaffirmed in 2016 the entire culture and sports sector of Ha Noi would continue to actively put into action the planned solutions to building and development of Capital’s culture and Ha Noi people in accordance with the Plan of the City People’s Committee in implementation of the Action Plan No. 29-CTr/TU dated 10 October, 2014 of the City Party Committee under the Resolution 33/NQ-TW dated 9 June, 2014 of the Party central committee (the 11st session) on “Building and developing culture and people of Viet Nam to meet the requirements for sustainable national goals”; the schemes and plannings assigned by the Ha Noi People’s Committee; further strengthening the state management in the fields of culture, sports and family; efficiently applying socialized advocacy so as to mobilize businesses as well as people to join hands in the cause of culture and sports development of the Capital.
