In memorial of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2017), Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs jointly organize the “70 Years of Gratitude” Exhibition at the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts (No. 2 Hoa Lu, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) from July 25 to July 27.

Attending guests at the opening ceremony to the exhibition were Mr. Dang Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Mr. Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, hero of the people’s armed forces, Major General Le Ma Luong, Former Director of the Museum of Vietnam History, representatives of ministries, departments, and agencies, Vietnamese heroic mothers, heroes of the people’s armed forces, reporters, and the public.

The “70 Years of Gratitude” Exhibition includes the following contents: displaying material, objects, and images of President Ho Chi Minh and Party and State leaders with the work of rewarding war invalids, martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution; displaying outstanding achievements in the work of rewarding war invalids, martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution; and displaying items with the “Whole society with the “Gratitude” movement” theme, in which the scope of display of the “Whole society with the “Gratitude” movement” theme includes the following exhibitions: “Deep gratitude” by Viet Nam Military History Museum; “People’s Public Security – 70 years of gratitude” by the People’s Public Security Museum; “Hanoi – 70 years of Gratitude movement” by Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports; “Thai Nguyen, Place of Origin of the War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day, July 27” by Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; “Vietnamese Heroic Mothers” by Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and “Letters from the war in Vietnam” by Vietnam Heroic Mother Monument Management Unit (Quang Nam) and Center for Study, Conservation and Promotion of Vietnamese Culture.

The exhibition also includes booths displaying products of enterprises and production establishments of war invalids, veterans, and families entitled to assistance. The exhibition also includes the “Letters from the war and national history and culture” seminar, “Songs of grace” art exchange program, the veteran singing contest themed “Remembering out teammates”, and meetings with winners of literature prizes on the subject of war invalids and martyrs, and so on.

The exhibition is a cultural event with a deep social and political significance in honoring and paying tribute to heroic martyrs, war invalids, wounded soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution who devoted their lives in defending the Fatherland. The exhibition also contributes to promoting the patriotic tradition and revolutionary heroism among the people, especially the younger generations, thereby mobilizes resources in the society to improve the material and spiritual life of policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services to the revolution, contributing to the implementation of law policies and guidelines of the Party and the State on the work of rewarding war invalids, martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
