Thanh Tri District Aligns Economic Growth with Socio-Cultural Development

In the first 6 months of 2017, the total production value of Thanh Tri district reached nearly VND 3,457 billion, increasing 8.7% over the same period of 2016 and the total budget revenue was roughly VND 670 billion, reaching 50.2% of the estimate by the district People’s Council.

The 2017 economic structure of Thanh Tri district has remained with the key sectors of agriculture, industry – handicraft, and trade – service. In the first half of this year, the agricultural and aquacultural product values reached VND 275,587,000,000 (up 0.1% y/y). The concentrated production areas have kept efficient. Also, the district has formed multiple new production models such as Cordyceps Sinensis and hydroponic vegetable cultivation, and so on, contributing to improving people’s lives. The industrial – handicraft production values were VND 2,230,322,000,000 (up 8.3%). Enterprises in the district mainly operate in the industry – construction and handicraft such as textiles, equipment manufacturing and repair. The concentrated trade villages have been further strengthened and expanded. Trade and services reached VND 959,858,000,000 (up 12.2%). The Spring Festivals and Vietnamese Good Weeks have been organized regularly to meet people’s needs for trading and exchange while promoting commercial development.

Under the leadership of the District Party Committee, the authorities of Thanh Tri district determined to speed up the completion of the records for commencing projects in support for new rural area construction and prepare finalization documents for completed projects to be put into use, especially those invested by Communal People’s Committees. Moreover, the district coordinated with the City to review and complete the application for the Government’s recognization of the district to meet new rural standards in the 2016-2020 period.

There have been safe vegetable production areas in the district, bringing high economic efficiency

 Additionally, education and training have been paid more attention. Currently, the district has 52 in 65 schools reaching the national standards (taking 80%, ranked as the City’s third place regarding the rate of standard schools). 100% of teachers meet the standard and 80.1% meet beyond the standards. The fields of culture, arts and sports have developed with a variety of practical and effective activities. Policies towards revolutionary contributors and policy families have been actively followed by the district. Political security and social order have been ensured. Preventive health care, epidemic prevention,  food hygiene and safety control, as well as agro-forestry and fishery product quality management, have been intensively implemented in all communes.
