These activities aim at preserving and promoting the values of traditional cultural heritages, promoting tourism development, and promoting the image of Hanoi’s Old Quarter in particular and the capital city of Hanoi in general. They are within the framework of Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board’s 2017 plan on promotion of values of the Old Quarter’s traditional cultural heritages and international cooperation which was approved by the People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem District.

A talk on introduction to the Vietnamese tea culture will be held with the participation and guidance of Vietnamese tea artisans.

Accordingly, from November 17 to November 26, a series of cultural activities on heritage conservation will be held in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
An exhibition on “Imperial examination” will be held at the Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu). A talk on “Traditional male Ao Dai and applications in contemporary society” will also be held at this address on November 18.
The organizers will held an introduction to the Vietnamese tea culture at the Heritage House (87 Ma May) with the participation and guidance of Vietnamese tea artisans.
Kim Ngan communal house (42-44 Hang Bac) will be the venue for the introduction to Ca Tru and Cheo traditional music.

Activities held in Hanoi Old Quarter in celebration of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day

One of the most anticipated activities is the Ao Dai Show by the Dinh Lang Viet group to be held at the opening ceremony at 7:30 p.m. on November 17 at the Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center. The show will introduce the works of designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam and designer Lan Anh in an attempt to honor male Ao Dai as well as traditional Ao Dai of candidates in the imperial examinations.
In addition, traditional costumes of Russia, India, Indonesia, and others will also be introduced at the event to bring viewers the identities and cultural diversity of the countries in the world.
