Following the celebrations of the 10th anniversary to implement the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 15 on enlargement of Ha Noi city’s administrative boundary, morning 29th July, at Ly Thai To Monument area (Hoan Kiem, Ha Noi) and around Hoan Kiem lake, the carnival themed “Ha Noi’s quintessence – Convergence and Shine” was organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ha Noi with the collaboration of Viet Nam Centre for Stage Art Conservation and Development.
The carnival started with the folklore group of 800 people presenting the unique art performance of Ha Noi as: dragon dance, kylin dance, flag running, festival drum,..
In conjunction with that was the handicraft village group with participation of 400 people, including about 300 professional artists performing the dances symbolizing lotus, peach and apricot flowers
700 elderly people performed health-improving physical exercises while 300 other athletes presented the martial art sports of wushu, karate taekwondo, erobic and dance sport.
Street carnival is a cultural activity of colourful diversity, attractiveness, impressiveness and high artistry, which relfects the traditional cultural characteristics of each locality within the cultural panoramic picture of of Ha Noi Capitalwith a thousand year culture; thus making contribution to creating a joyful atmosphere to people from all walks of life in Ha Noi as well as foreign tourist visitors; to honouring the cultural heritages, promoting and speeding up the development of tourism; incouraging and stimulating the mass people to enthusiastically emulate in study, labour and production in an effort to accomplish successfully the socio-economic tasks in 2018 as targeted by Ha Noi and the nation.
