Chuong My Enhancing the quality of comprehensive education

In the academic year 2016 – 2017, Chuong My Office of Education and Training continued to reap achievements. The quality of comprehensive education was maintained and the core quality was enhanced and consolidated with encouraging achievements in excellent student contests and excellent teacher contests of all levels. Currently, the district has 62 national-standard schools. Preschool education was provided to all 5-year-old children. 100% of grade 5 students were recognized as having completed elementary school program. 99.98% of grade 9 students were recognized as having graduated from junior high school. The district has 266 district-level excellent teachers, 14 city-level excellent teachers and educational staff and 11,556 district-level, 172 city-level, and 13 national level excellent students.

          In addition to educational achievements, the sport and physical training movement at schools also indicated strong development. The People’s Committee of Chuong My District directed the organization of student sporting contests in preparation for the Chuong My Sport and Physical Training Grand Festival 2017. Of 719 students competing in the district-level event, 58 students won first prizes, 58 students won second prizes, and 82 students won third prizes. 174 students were selected to participate in the city-level competition, in which they won 55 medals in total. Another important aspect of education was the cultural and arts movement. This aspect was also focused on as indicated in the organization of several regular events that created a joyful atmosphere and contributed to helping schools fulfill their assigned tasks. The district’s team was excellently placed third in the city’s Youth Tunes contest in which it won one second prize and two third prizes.

Recently, the People’s Committee of Chuong My District held a ceremony to commend and reward excellent students in the school year 2016-2017 and to launch the “Month of Actions for Children” of 2017. The “Month of Actions for Children” of 2017 will focus on “Implementing the Law on Children and Preventing Violence against Children and Child Abuse” and will be deployed from June 1 to June 30. The movement will include propaganda programs on the topic and message of the Month of Actions for Children; information dissemination programs regarding the Law on Children and prevention of violence against children and child abuse; activities to improve the living environment and ensure the safety of children at home, at school, and in the community; the organization and management of summer activities for children; safe and healthy cultural, sports, and recreation activities for children in the summer; activities related to the implementation of child injury prevention program; activities to gain support for the Children Sponsorship Fund and to deliver gifts and scholarships to poor children, ethnic minority children, and children with extremely harsh living conditions; activities related to the support for the orthopedic rehabilitation program for children with disabilities, and so on.

Chuong My focuses on enhancing the quality of comprehensive education

          On this occasion, Chuong My authorities commended and rewarded 592 national level, city-level, and district-level excellent students, students actively participating in the Gratitude movement, and other fine examples. Scholarships worth 1 million VND each were also awarded to 50 students who overcame difficulties to study well.
