 In 2020, CNN will introduce Hanoi as a new sports destination of Vietnam, especially for F1 racing.

Specifically, in 2019, CNN continues its project in terms of exploring the promotion of heritage values, people and culture of Hanoi which stand out the most significantly for Vietnam. In 2020, CNN is going to introduce Hanoi as a new Vietnamese destination, especially the F1 racing; one thing leads to another, in 2021, Hanoi will continue being promoted to be a host of Seagames 31.

To 2020, CNN will advertise Hanoi under a modern perspective of information technology applications corresponding to the immense changes yearly. In 2023, Hanoi will be given the name of future city, the gateway to other cities in Vietnam and also a helpful hand to the connection of other cities around the world. “CNN channel will promote Hanoi public image through stories told from various kinds of viewpoints such as sports, culture, etc. Those images will be posted on CNN channel and social networks as well” said Mrs. SuniTara Jan.

 Travellers come to Hanoi with the immense and pure purposes of learning culture, people and heritage of this capital city.

According to a CNN survey, among the top 100 world destinations, Asia occupies 41 places; in which, over 50% online reader access CNN information via mobile devices. The aimed customer segment of CNN targets politicians and enterprises. The trend of business travelers who are also ready to prolong their time to learn about culture and arts increased by about 30% and is expected to continue to increase in the coming time. “That is the reason in the two consecutive years 2017-2018, the image of Hanoi promoted on CNN focuses on Hanoi culture, people and heritage, creating a highlight as a new destination,” Ms. SuniTara Jan revealed.

 In 2019, CNN continues its journey to publicly promote Hanoi heritage values, people and culture as exemplary meanings for Vietnam.

In 2018, the tourism industry of the capital city continues to affirm its dominant role and position as a major economic sector with stable growth rate and increasing scale of activities, contributing effectively to the economic restructuring of the city.

According to the report of Hanoi Tourism Department, in the past year, the city has attracted 26.31 million visitors, up 10.4% over the same period.

Notably, Hanoi tourism has received many typical ratings from newspapers and international websites such as: Hanoi was nominated as 1 out of 17 cities worth voting for the award “the world leading destination in 2018 “by World Travel Awards World Tourism Organization.

Hanoi is not only among the top destinations for all tourists but also holds a high position in the list of 10 cities in Southeast Asia which attract most business travelers; led the hottest trend in the world 2018 on the number of tourist reservations, ranked first in 7 best destinations in Asia for backpackers; won the best marketing campaign for tourism product promotion at the 8th Asia-Pacific Tourism Promotion Organization (TPO) Forum, etc.
In 2019, Hanoi strives to receive nearly 29 million tourists, an increase of 10% compared to 2018; in which, international travellers reached over 7 million, increasing by 17%; total revenue from tourists reached VND 103,807 billion, rising up to 34% compared to 2018.
