On the evening of the 19th April, at the Culture-Tourism Village of Viet Nam Ethnic Minorities (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Ha Noi), the Cultural Day of Viet Nam ethnic minorities  took place. Attending the opening ceremony was Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Committee for Education and Propaganda, Mr. Vo Van Thuong.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism pointed out: For the past years, the Ministry of Culture, sports and Tourism has held conferences, workshops on the solutions to issues of collection, conservation, enhancement of cultural heritages, literature, arts of the ethnic minorities; provided training courses to craftsmen, reputed figures among the community in the remote areas; re-taught the intangible cultures of the ethnic group with a less than 5 thousand population; wrapped up and evaluated the outcomes of 15 year work of conservation and bringing into play the traditional values the village. However, the traditional culture of the ethnic group is facing many challenges.

He also stressed : “The traditional culture of some of the ethnic minorities have been at high risks of being lost in oblivion and deformed; the relationship between conservation and development has not been yet well solved; some of the fine cultural traditions of the ethnic minorities hav not been duely preserved and enhanced, the development of new values are still limited.  Against the background, more attention from all levels, branches should be required in taking substantive and appropriate measures, so that the advocacies and policies on the promulgated by the Party and State on the ethnic minority issue, its conservation and promotion will be regularly executed effectively, contributing to consolidation of great national unity”.

These above activities have helped create a cultural colourful space full of vitality of viet Nam ethnic minorities at the “Common House” – Cultural and Tourism Village of Viet Nam Ethnic Group.
