As said by the Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports To Van Dong, Hanoi Museum is currently just a “shell”, has no display items. In recent years, Hanoi City has assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to engage foreign experts to provide advice on general and detailed outline for the display of Hanoi Museum. After 2 years since the new term of office, the leaders of the City Committee of the Party and People’s Committee redirected the Department of Culture and Sports and Hanoi Museum on the display here. In two recent years, Hanoi Museum and relevant agencies have worked with experts including French experts and scientists of Hanoi and the whole country to adjust the overall and detailed display. First of all, after two years, domestic and foreign experts agreed with the adjustment of display this time. We are currently finalizing the detailed designs so that the display will be carried out and expected to guarantee from 1 to 3/4 of the display in October, 2019. Therefore, at present, Hanoi Museum is deserted that is completely accurate because the content is not yet available, only the “empty shell”.

Currently, Hanoi Museum is in the process of consulting the display.

Mr. Dong also affirmed that the “shell” of Hanoi Museum has received a lot of opinions, so the display will be implemented more carefully so that the display can be better. In September, 2019, when coming to Hanoi Museum, it will be no longer “deserted”.

In the process of waiting for completion of the display, Hanoi Museum has been implementing the display of the Hanoi Museum Construction Project under the direction of Hanoi People’s Committee. Hanoi Museum, in addition to collection, display and preservation of artifacts, has maintained regular openings and received 108,605 visitors to visit, research and study, held professional activities associated with display, education and communication.
