Taking place from April 14 to April 20, the 2021 National Youth Shooting Championship brings together 200 athletes from 13 units across the country. At the tournament, athletes competed in 20 individual and team events of men and women.

At the end of the tournament, with the achievement of winning 16 gold medals, 14 silver medals, 10 bronze medals, the Army delegation successfully defended first place in the whole team and broke 9 national youth records. In second place is the Ho Chi Minh City delegation with 10 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 1 bronze medal, breaking 3 national youth records. Hanoi delegation finished third with 8 gold medals, 11 silver medals, 9 bronze medals, breaking 4 national youth records.

At the tournament, a total of 17 national youth records were broken (in which 13 new national youth records were recognized) at the 2021 National Youth Shooting Tournament including: Nguyen Khanh Duy (Army, men’s 50m pistol, 532 points); Bui Thuy Thu Thuy (Hanoi, 25m women’s sports pistol, 576 points); Nguyen Thuy Trang (People’s Public Security, 25m women’s sports pistol, 558 points); Le Thi Mong Tuyen (Ho Chi Minh City, 10m female air rifle with 617.2 points); Phi Thanh Thao (Army, 10m female’s air rifle, 625.9 points); Phi Thanh Thao-Nguyen Quoc Hao Kiet (Army, 10m mixed air rifle team with 607.2 points); Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen-Le Thao Ngoc-Nguyen Hoc Ha (Hanoi, 10m women-team mixed mobile air rifle with 1,022 points); Nguyen Ngoc Vu (Ho Chi Minh City, 10m men’s air pistol, 566 points); Dinh Tuan Kiet (Ho Chi Minh City, 10m men’s air pistol, 561 points); Nguyen Thanh Trung – Vu Quoc Trieu – Ngo Vi Hieu (Army, 10m mixed portable air rifle men-teammate, 1056 points); Phi Thanh Thao (Army, 50m rifle with 3 female positions, 1,159 points), etc.
The 2021 National Youth Shooting Championship takes place as an opportunity to select talented young shooters to prepare for the force of the national shooting team in the future. It is known that young athletes who are in the top 3 in the contents of the tournament will be summoned to the national team in the following rounds.
