On June 20, 2017, at the meeting hall of the culture, information & sport center, the People’s Committee of Dong Da District organized the “Friendly Civil Group Leader” Competition for Dong Da District in 2017
Attending the contest were Nguyen Khac Loi – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi; leader representative of Cultural Lifestyle Division of Hanoi Culture and Information Department; leaders of the district Party Committee, the District People’s Committee, the comrades in the Steering Committee for the movement “All people unite to build cultural life” in the district; and 21 competition candidates, who are example civil group leaders from 21 wards.
Participating in the contest, each contestant participates in 4 parts. Part 1 involves self-introduction, in which they talk about themselves and their respective civil groups. In the second part of the contest, they take multiple choice questions which test their knowledge on the guiding documents, on the implementation of the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life”, and on the work towards building an image of elegant Hanoian”… Part 3 is feuilleton contest, which allows the main characters- the civil group leader to express their dynamism, and behavior in actual scenarios. Part 4 is aptitude contest in which each contestant selects a show himself so that he can express his strengths in such fields as culture, arts, and sports.
The participants have taken the contest in various vivid forms . Especially, in the aptitude contest, many senior contestants have showed their talents with drama performances, solo/duet songs, folk songs, storytelling … These made the competition exciting and vibrant.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to O Cho Dua ward, 02 second prizes for Nam Dong and Lang Thuong wards; Three third prizes for Van Mieu, Nga Tu So and, Trung Liet Ward, the remaining wards received the encouragement prizes. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the most outstanding contestant, the contestant with the best feuilleton and the one with best answersto the contesting questions.
According to Phan Hong Viet, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Da District, the head of the competition organizing committee, the contest of the friendly civil group leader of Dong Da ward in 2017 is important to identify and promote the roles and positions. of the civil group leader in the process of implementing the movement “All people unite to build cultural life”, boosting the work toward cultural life at the grassroots level. Meanwhile, this is also an opportunity for the civil group leaders to exchange, learn and share their knowledge and experience, and improve their situational management skills, contributing toward capacity building for the civil group leader.
