Vietnamese Folk Games Olympic Festival 2018 is co-organized by San Dinh group, Group “Toi xe dich” and UNESCO Center for International Cultural Exchange and Preservation (ICEP – Hanoi Classy). The series of events aims to promote and impart the values of Vietnamese traditional folk games to the public. The 18th of August was officially selected as the day of Vietnamese folk games. The project was awarded a Certificate of establishing Vietnamese Folk Game Day on August 18 by UNESCO.
The festival is a community-based non-profit project with the aim of preserving and developing the values of Vietnamese folk games and creating an annual festival of Vietnamese folk games on August 18.
The striking feature of Launching Ceremony of Vietnamese Folk Game Day and Vietnamese Folk Games Olympic Festival 2018 is that participants will compete in 4 exciting and interesting games: O an quan (Mandarin square capturing), Danh dao (pitching pennie), Nhay bao bo (bag jumping), and Ca kheo (walking on stilts).
