2017 is the second year Ha Noi Capital has been implementing the 5-year socio-economic plan 2016 – 2020, the year chosen as “The year of administrative disciplines”. With an attempt to tighten the administrative disciplines, improving ways of working style, making radical and positive changes in public administration, the branch of culture and sports has been making it all efforts to fulfil the designed work plan, resulting in a great number of achievements in the areas of culture, sports and family affairs. The Electronic Information Portal of Ha Noi Department of Culture and sports had an interview with Mr. To Van Dong, Municipal Party Committee member, Director of Ha Noi Culture and Sports on the outstanding outcomes recorded in the last 2017. The following is an excerpt of it.
Q: Being the first locality to take lead in issuing and implementing the code of conduct imposed on cadres, civil servants, officers and labourers working in the bodies of Ha Noi city, and the code of conduct in public areas within Ha Noi city, would you please evalutate the initial results and efforts done by the entire branch in order to make it come to life?
A: Right after the two codes of conducts have been issued, all the line Departments, branches, unions, districts, towns have actively propagandized and generalized the two down to every organ, unit, family, street group, residential area so as to let them know and abide by. As a result, initially it has made changes in urban civilized way of lifes, firstly among the cadres, civil servants, officers in the course of handling the public work, and partly in the public, especially in their awareness and attitudes to strictly observe the rules and regulations of the state organs; managing and consuming the working time; wearings; behaviour culture within the historical and cultural relics, at landscapes and beauty spots in the city area,… In 2018, Ha Noi will continue to implement the two codes of cconduct under a new, plentiful, diversified and dynamic manner.
- During major holidays and anniversaries of the Capital and country, Ha Noi often has been decorated in an ever more freshly graceful and civilized facade. Would you please highlight the changes which have been done in response to making Ha Noi more and more beautiful in the eyes of the public?
- In 2017, the work of decoration, lighting, propagation and visual propaganda in the city has experienced considerable progressses, especially at the city central areas, main routes and the Capital’s gateways during the occassions of political events and important celebrations of the Capital and country. This has attracted participation of painters, students coming from specialized universities, companies, businesses in decorating overally routes, squares, traffic islands under various forms. The decorating samples have been selected carefully, amended and completed after seeking comments, opinions and screenings by an Art Board and the public. The financially socialized propagation and visual propaganda have been stepped up.
