Hanoi Library’s exhibition of books and newspapers “Epic of Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air”

The Victory of “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air battle” in December 1972 was one of the greatest achievements in the history of fighting against foreign invaders of Vietnamese nation. Within 12 days and nights of relentlessly fighting with fortitude, the army and people of Hanoi Capital had completely defeated the unprecedented large-scale strategic air raid in which B-52 bombs were mostly used, making the glorious victory of “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air battle”.

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the victory of “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air battle”, Hanoi Library has held an exhibition to display books and newspapers “Epic of Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air”. The exhibition introduces to the public numerous documents, materials, and articles, including the ones published right at the time of the event “Hanoi – 12 days and nights” of army and people of Hanoi capital.

The books and newspapers are classified into series of events with the following themes: The Vietnamese Nation’s War against the United States – Typical Events; Victory of “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air battle”, Hanoi – Capital of Culture and Heroes.

The Exhibition, with many valuable materials, is the opportunity for people of Hanoi Capital in particular and Vietnamese people in general to show their pride of the glorious victories, patriotic tradition, solidarity and fierce fighting of Vietnamese nation in the history of struggle for national liberation. They are also the meaningful historical lessons for today’s young generations to follow and promote these good traditions in building and developing our country.
