Referring to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, the Program has set specific tasks as follows:

In the period 2021-2025, Hanoi will focus on research on challenges affecting the preservation and promotion of cultural values of the capital during urban development, industrialization and modernization; and then find out and propose solutions to manage, preserve and promote the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritage better, ensuring a harmonious relationship between preservation and development. The city will also have preferential policies for folk artists, writers and artists, etc. encourage empowerment and the creation of new cultural values.

Strengthening state management, promote the value of relics in the city; prioritizing investment in the restoration and embellishment of special national relics, world cultural heritages, and revolutionary historical relics of typical value; deploying the digitization of documents, develop action plans to promote, protect and promote the value of typical and endangered intangible cultural heritage.

Actively implementing the commitment to UNESCO to complete the project of preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the world heritage sites such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the 18 Hoang Dieu relic and the special national relic Co Loa (Dong Anh district).

Harmoniously handling the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values with economic development and sustainable tourism activities which are suitable to each unit in the city, contributing to promoting the image of the capital and Hanoi people to friends, domestic and international tourists

 Implementing the contents of joining the “Creative Cities” network according to the criteria and roadmap committed with UNESCO.

Also in the next 5 years, Hanoi will implement specific projects and plans such as Plan for management, renovation, embellishment and promotion of the value of historical-cultural relics and famous landmarks in the City for the period of 2021 – 2025; Plan for construction of a database of cultural heritages of Thang Long – Hanoi based on technology 4.0; Plan for preservation and promotion of the value of the intangible cultural heritage of Hanoi city in the period of 2021-2025; Plan for the development of policies to support artisans in the field of intangible cultural heritage in Hanoi City…
