Accordingly, in 2020, Hanoi in particular and the country, in general, will have many major holidays, important historical and political events. For the celebration of the events, Hanoi City plans to promote communication and visual decoration in a cheerful manner; organize many activities, culture & sports events, honor and promote events, such as Scientific Conference on the leadership role of the City Party Committee in the past 90 years; publishing publications on achievements, lessons learned in 90 years of building and developing the City Party Committee; meeting with families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services; exhibition of paintings, photographs, art performances, mobile film shows attached to the contents of events; dragon boat festival; cuisine culture festival; folklore festivals in contemporary life; Formula 1 (F1) racing tournament in Hanoi, etc.

The Hanoi People’s Committee assigns the Department of Culture and Sports to preside over and coordinate with the concerned departments and agencies to advise and formulate schemes and plans to organize joint commemorative activities in 2020 and projects and commemorative plans for important events, such as 90 years of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 1980 year of Hai Ba Trung uprising; 130 years of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday; 60 years of attachment of Hanoi-Hue- Saigon; 1010 years of Thang Long – Hanoi; 90 years of founding Hanoi Party Committee, etc.
The Department of Culture and Sports is in collaboration with other departments, agencies and mass organizations of the city; People’s Committees of rural districts, urban districts and towns to build and deploy a plan to organize cultural, artistic, physical training and sports activities; communication, decoration, visual promotion, etc. in the region on festivals, anniversaries, cultural and sports events taking place throughout the year.
Relevant departments, branches and branches shall coordinate in promoting communication and education; enhance the work of ensuring security and order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention, etc. in service of activities on occasions of celebrations and implementation of the urban civilized lifestyle.
