On hand at the Congress of Viet Nam Federation of Traditional Martial Arts were Mr. Le Khanh Hai – Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Vuong Bich Thang – Chairman of Viet Nam National Administration of Sports. At the Congress, according to the report presented by Mr. Dang Danh Tuan – Secretary General of the Federation: Viet Nam Federation of Traditional Martial Arts has developed and gradually completed an annual system of competitions such as championships, youth and cup tournaments, and on every two year basis international. During the period from 2013 to 2017, the Federation has managed to organize 22 national level belt – upgrading tests. Mr. Hoang Vinh Giang continues to be elected as Chairman of Viet Nam Federation of Traditional Martial Arts
As the results, there have been 2.219 martial arts instructors and assistant coaches registering and awarded new cirtificates, of which there are 170 seniors of seven- level, 389 of six-level, 329 of five level, 391 senior assistant coaches, 891 of third level, 49 of second level.
Coupled with that, the Congress has elected the Executive Committee of the fifth Term comprising 51 members, of which there are 17 members of the Standing Committee headed by Mr. Hoang Vinh Giang as Chairman and Mr. Dang Danh Tuan as Vice Chairman cum Secretary General.
Regarding the objectives for 2018 – 2023 term, Viet Nam Traditional Martial Arts Federation would target to expand internation relations in traditional martial arts, coordinate in organized activities so as to create a playground for all traditional martial arts federations both domestic and international; successfully hold the International Viet Martial Arts Uniquenesses Festival and youth traditional martial arts tournaments, championships,.. ; at the same time, develop shows in order to promote the domestic and international martial arts; step up propaganda on Viet Nam traditional martial arts with the aim to sustain funding from the sponsorships in support of the holding of tournaments and show programmes.
Appearance of the Term Executive Committee
Speaking at the Congree, Mr. Le Khanh Hai, Vice Minister highly appreciated the efforts and determination made by the Executive Committee of Viet Nam Traditional Martial Arts for having contributed to hightening the community’s health conditions. He also requested that the Federation build the and spread movement of traditional martial arts in the entire country and the world, helping educate practioners physically, ethically and morally; Strengthen and ameliorate the organizational apparatus, training and refereshening the contingent of cadres turning them as nucleus of the movemement.
Viet Nam traditional martial arts have represented in 55 nations over the world and increasingly developed in an intensive and extensive manner. It is not only improving the practising skills, health and self defensiveness, as well as keeping the physical and spiritual harmony among the Vietnamese people; but also by exercising it, would help evoke the pride of national tradition of martial arts sportmanship and the humanity among the Vietnamese people.
