The National Stick Pushing and Tug-of-War Championship is the opportunity to gather the great national unity to provinces and cities across the country to compete, learn and exchange experiences to maintain, preserve and develop national sports.

 The National Stick Pushing and Tug-of-War Championship 2019 took place in Vinh Phuc province.

This year, the XIV National Stick Pushing Championship and the VIII National Tug-of-War Championship will be held from April 24, 2020, to May 7, 2020, at the Dak Lak Provincial Sports Stadium. The Opening Ceremony of Stick Pushing is scheduled at 8:00 am on April 26, 2020, Tug-of-War at 8:00 am on May 3, 2020.
Attending this year championship will be about 300 athletes from 20 delegations of provinces, cities and industries in the country. In Stick Pushing, athletes will compete in 26 weight classes, 14 weight classes for men (from 48kg to over 90kg), and 12 weight classes for women (from 45kg to over 75kg).
In the Tug-of-War, the teams will compete in 27 weight classes of 3 contents, including: Indoor competition for 8 people (men’s team: 600kg, 560kg, 520kg; Women’s team: 560kg, 520kg, 480kg; mixed teams: 550kg, 530kg, 510kg. Indoor competition for 6 people (men’s team: 420kg, 400kg, 380kg; Women’s team: 400kg, 380kg, 360kg; mixed teams: 370kg, 350kg, 330kg). Indoor competition for 4 people (men’s team: 300kg, 280kg, 260kg; Women’s teams: 280kg, 260kg, 240kg; mixed teams: 270kg, 250kg, 230kg).
The annual National Stick Pushing and Tug-of-War Championship contribute to promoting the movement of Stick Pushing and Tug-of-War practice to grow strongly in both quantity and quality. Through the organization of the tournament, it has contributed to promoting the campaign “The entire people practice physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho”.
