King Le Thai To was a politician and military leader who formed an army of Vietnamese people, led this army to fight against Ming army from 1418 to 1428 when Ming army was completely expelled from Dai Viet, then rebuilt and reconstructed the country. He also succeeded with military campaigns to defeat the chiefs on the northern border of Dai Viet and Ai Lao army. He is considered a heroic and legendary king of Dai Viet with his military talent, ability to rule, and compassion for the people. Later, historians elected Le Loi as one of the two saints of the nation’s medieval period.
