The following is an excerpt of his speech:
During the atmostphere that the entire country are cheerful and glad for the successes of all-level Party Congresses and actively preparing for the coming 13rd National Party Congress; and the 10th session of the National Assembly’s XIV tenure has fruitfully ended, today at Ha Noi- the Capital of thousand years of culture and heroism, we are solemnly organizing the 90th founding anniversary of Viet Nam National Unified Front-the Traditional Day of Viet Nam Fatherland Front (18 November, 1930 – 18 November, 2020) – an important event in the political life of the whole country’s people, the festive day for the national great solidarity.
With the motto “Proactiveness, flexibility, innovativeness and effectiveness”, the external activities carried out by Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels and its member organizations have been increasingly stepped up and renewed, more concentrated, widened in areas and activities, diversified in targeted participation, in contribution to realizing the advocacies, guidelines of independence, self reliance, multilateralism, diversified external relationship, to be a friend, reliable counterpart and active and responsible member in the internatinal community, striving for peace, cooperation and development, so as to raising Viet Nam’s stature and prestige on the international arena. Most recently, when the the Covid-19 pandemic started outbreaking, the entire Party, people, military force, with the high sense of determination to fight against the disease like enemy, have made great efforts and achieved the initial results in controlling and driving back the disease. To connect the hand joining, mobilizing the involment of organizations and individuals both within and without to protect and prevent the pandemic Covid-19, the Presidium of Viet Nam Central Fatherland Front Committee has released an appeal calling on the “Entire people to get involved in protection and prevention of Covid-19”. The examples of nurses, doctors, soldiers, police together with every citizen’s participation in the combat of Covid-19 have demonstrated vividly the tradition of patriotism and powers of the national great unity bloc with Viet Nam Central Fatherland Front playing the core role.

Currently, the world situation is undergoing rapid, complicated and unforeseeable developments; the strategic competition between the big powers, including politics and economy is harshly under way; security issues both traditional and non-traditional continues to impact peace, stability and development in other countries, including Viet Nam. In conjunction with the above fundamental advantages, our country is also faced with numerous difficulties and challenges.
