Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional culture of Vietnamese people, especially meaningful for teenagers and children. With the desire to bring joy and smiles to children, gifts for them to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in the context of complicated Covid-19 pandemic, they can still “process the lanterns, and have a party”; Childhood memories are still filled with images of the star-shaped lantern, the legend of the banyan tree, The Moon Boy, and The Moon Lady; thereby, contributing to clearing the mind, improving the spiritual life so that the children can always confidently overcome the difficulties of the pandemic.
Performances in the program include Lantern procession under the full moon; Tho Ngoc solo: Rock Moon (The Moon Boy, The Moon Lady with accompaniment of puppetry procession); The full moon shines on bamboo from the artists of the Vietnam National Puppet Theatre. Circus and Magic Clown from Vietnam Circus Federation perform Goat; The Moon Lady on the moon; Cylindrical Drum Lion dance; Procession of star-shaped lanterns; Hip Hop Dance and Hand-Washing Dance from Thang Long Puppet Theatre.

This is an activity in the series of Online art exchange programs with the theme of “Sharing love, getting through the pandemic”, a theme that runs through all online programs during this period to continue strength for the frontline against the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as adding mental pabulum to all audiences during the implementation of social distancing. At the same time, arousing and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese nation, together overcoming the pandemic; arousing the fire of passion, enthusiasm and creativity of artists to create new works on the topic of prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, spreading in the community profound messages of love for the homeland, the country, the people of Vietnam.
The program will be performed and Livestreamed on the Vietnam Performing Arts’ Youtube channel, the Department of Performance Arts’ fanpage and the artists’ Facebook page participating in the program.
