Along with the development of organization, the content and mode of operation of study and talent promotion activities have positive changes. The activities of the study encouragement society at all levels are diverse, rich and include the following areas: supporting poor students; encouraging students to study well in knowledge in school, vocational training, arts, physical training & sports, moral training and active participation in social activities; encouraging public officials, employees and laborers to study so as to improve their labor productivity and create technical innovations; large-scale & high-efficiency cultivation and breeding, etc. Up to now, 100% of communes and wards have organized associations with 229 branches, of which there are 143 village and residential group branches, 51 school ones, 20 family ones and 15 agency and unit ones. Movement to build a fondness of studious is conducted to households; community, families, business agencies; the lifelong learning model is adopted with 28,214 households; 31 families and 75 communities. The Study Encouragement Society scaled from town to locality always plays the core role in coordinating with mass organizations which well and regularly disseminate and encourage households dominating particular learners and dropouts; timely support & grant scholarships, and approve the study expenses to poor pupils and students in difficult circumstances; and promote the socialization of education. Typically, school year 2016-2017 has supported the cost of learning for students with a total amount of VND 654,060,000; and carried out the mobilization of funds for socialization of education in schools reached VND 1,097,921,000. In addition, the local study encouragement funds have been increased, especially household, village and school funds. On average, each year, the study encouragement societies in communes and wards have mobilized from VND 10,000,000 to VND 30,000,000 to spend on the study and talent promotion activities in localities, contributing to promoting the movement of the learning and education in the entire population, and gradually built a learning society. Study encouragement levels are constantly improving the quality of activities, promoting the forms of study and talent promotion such as launching the movement named Study promotion by all sectors, all families and all people, especially, developing incentive models for piggy bank and chicken bank saving, etc.
Emulation movements promoted by the Study Encouragement Society are diverse and practical activities attracting the active participation of agencies, units and people in the locality. In particular, it is necessary to focus on fast-spreading movements such as “fondness of study in households”, “fondness of study in families” and “fondness of study in community”. Thereby, there are many typical examples who promote the tradition for fondness of learning, own their will to overcome the difficulties, hard work, creativity in production and investment for the descendants to study, and become good citizens for the society and then contributing to positive impacts on many aspects of life, socio-economy and the universalization of education, limiting the dropout rates in the locality.
The Study and Talent Encouragement Society of Thanh My commune, Son Tay town rewarded excellent students
Recently, the Son Tay Study Encouragement Society held the Congress for 2017-2022 tenure. Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Huy Khanh – the Vice Chairman of Son Tay People’s Committee praised the achievements gained by the town study encouragement society in the last term, as well as directed, during the term of 2017-2022, the study encouragement societies from the town to communes and wards to concentrate on launching the movement of building a studious family in the community, improving the quality of activities of community learning centers, of which focusing on learning forms for adults and teenagers; carrying out good care for studious poor students in the locality. The objectives of the 2017-2022 tenure, the study encouragement societies continue to consolidate the societies stronger and stronger, to strive that 100% of residential groups and villages establish study promotion associations, 90% of families set up study promotion movement and households achieve the title of studious household. On this occasion, the Town People’s Committee rewarded 4 groups for recording achievements in the study promotion at the town for the term of 2012-2017.
