Recognized by UNESCO as a Creative City Design in 2019, in one of its strategic commitments, Hanoi City aims to develop a network of young creative designers through the Hanoi Center for Creative Design in order to provide the assistance and opportunities for young people to jointly create the city of the future.
To support the city, policy-makers and experts perform the above commitment and realize the vision “Young people are leaders right from today”. Besides, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, will organize an online event on public and creative spaces in urban areas to consult with experts and young people, especially lecturers and students of domestic and foreign universities. The webinar will take place at 1:30 p.m. on October 15, 2021.
This will be an opportunity for experts and young people to give their opinions to the creative city vision, thereby identifying the real needs of young people regarding creative spaces and public spaces. This consultation webinar will help United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, Hanoi City, and domestic and foreign experts determine goals and develop specific action plans.
The webinar will be organized on the occasion of the global series Urban October of United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, also within the framework of the project “Mobilization of cultural resource and youth participation towards the development of Hanoi City into a City of Creativity” (Hanoi Rethink project) which are being implemented by UNESCO, UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat.
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities to provide adequate shelter for all.
