On the morning of November 26, at Kim Dong Theater, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations to organize an international children’s painting competition “I love Hanoi – The City of Peace” 2022.
Attending the Competition were Ms. Tran Thi Van Anh – Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Competition; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong – Standing Vice President of Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations; Ms. Ly Thi Thuy Hanh – Director of Hanoi Cultural Center, Deputy Head of the Competition Organizing Committee. Ms. Ly Thi Thuy Hanh – Director of Hanoi Cultural Center, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Competition gave the opening speech.
The Competition was for Vietnamese and foreign teenagers and children (from 6 to 15 years old) living and studying in Hanoi capital, with the meaning of propagating and educating about love for peace and harmony for Vietnamese and international teenagers and children, promoting the image of Hanoi – the thousand-year-old capital, the “Cultural – Civilized – Modern” city. The competition also aroused the children’s passion for painting and creative thinking. The Competition aimed to find, discover, and foster talents, create a healthy and useful playground, and give participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and develop their painting skills.
The Competition attracted the participation of more than 300 children, who are students from primary schools, junior high schools, gifted clubs of Hanoi as well as children from France, Korea, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, Bulgaria, and Czech Republic, etc. studying and living in Hanoi. With the theme “I love Hanoi – The City of Peace”, the children presented works expressing their wish for a happy and prosperous life, drawing pictures on their favorite topics, about Hanoi – The city of “Culture- Civilization – Modernity”, about love of peace, people and life, beautiful nature, fighting against environmental pollution, war, poverty, and epidemics, etc.
The Competition aroused children’s passion for painting and creative thinking.
On behalf of the Competition Jury, Meritorious Artist, painter Nguyen Van Truc – Head of the Jury commented that each child had a different way of seeing and feeling, so the composition of each picture was also different. It was hard for the jury to see the meaning and get into the thinking in the children’s work. Many of the works were very beautiful, well-composed, with harmonious and fresh colors. The children had a strange look of their childhood that makes professional artists also feel surprised. The winning paintings had very little difference. It was where the Competion this year succeed in.
The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the Competitionants.
The painting won the first prize of Competitionant Nguyen Thu Giang – Cung Trang Education Center.
Based on the evaluation results of the Jury, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 3 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes, 10 Consolation Prizes, 5 Special Consolation Prizes and 10 Sub-prizes to excellent candidates at the Competition. The high prize winners also received gifts from the sponsor, Hong Ha Stationery Joint Stock Company.

The international children’s painting Competition “I love Hanoi – The City of Peace” was a good opportunity for the children of Hanoi capital and international children studying and living in Vietnam to meet, exchange and strengthen their friendship and solidarity.
