Within the frame of the 3rd (term 2017-2022) Veterans’ Organization Congress, bloc of the city authorities, on the afternoon of July 4, the Veterans’ Organization, bloc of city authorities, held the first day of work. With the spirit of focusing, democracy, unity and solidarity, the Congress elected the Executive Board of the new term of 2017-2022 with 25 delegates.

This Congress took place with the theme “ Promoting the traditional essence of Uncle Ho’s soldiers who are loyal, united, exemplary, innovative, building strong and clean association, excellently completing the political duties of the Association, making contribution to the building of a clean and strong party organization and units, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress of the City bloc of authorities and the Resolution of the 16th Congress Hanoi Party Committee” .
On the first working day, delegates attending the Congress adopted the working regulations of the congress and the election regulations. Then, electing the presidium of the Assembly with 5 comrades, the secretary team and panel of delegate conduct investigation with 3 comrades. Shortly thereafter, the representatives of the Presidium of the Assembly adopted the report synthesizing comments on the amendments and supplements to the Association’s Charter and the report on the opinions of participants in the draft political report of the 6th Veterans’ Organization Congress.
Then, the Congress elected the Executive Board of the new term of 2017 – 2022 with 25 delegates, also, elected a delegate to attend the upper level. Shortly after the end of the first session, the Executive Board of the new term held the first session to elect the Standing Committee, the president, the vice president, the inspection committee and the head of the inspection committee.
On July 5, the third Congress of Veterans’ Organization of the city bloc of authorities, the 2017-2022 term, entered the second working day with the following contents as follows: political report of the 3rd Congress, term 2017-2022; review report of the Executive Committee of term II; memoir speeches of the units at the Congress; reports on the results of the Executive Board meeting session; Gave awards and certificate of merit to individuals and collectives who have obtained achievements in the second term 2012-2017; passed the Resolution of the Veteran Congress’ Organization bloc of Hanoi city authorities.

Over the past five years, the Veterans’ Organization bloc of city authorities has always highlighted the role and responsibilities of a social and political organization within the City Party. Veterans’ Organization bloc of city authorities has 51 associations (46 affiliated organizations, 5 sub-branches) with 1,314 members, of which 986 are Party members (75.03%). Officials and members of the Association have always held and promoted the nature and tradition of “ Uncle Ho’s Soldiers”, firmly in the political viewpoints, have experience in work, have high level political theory, professional skills.
Over the past years, the affiliates of the association have paid visits and given 836 gifts (valued at VND250 million) to disadvantaged members, wounded members and revolutionary martyr families at festivals, New year; The Association has also cooperated with authorities and units to visit and give gifts to policy beneficiaries, marine soldiers in Hoang Sa, Truong Sa, Central Vietnam people suffered drought, salt intrusion … with money, presents which were worth over 698 million.
