The Hanoi City People’s Committee has just issued a plan to organize activities to celebrate the 1980th anniversary of the Trung Sisters’ Uprising (40-2020). Activities are hosted by the City Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City. The executing units are Hai Ba Trung District People’s Committee, Me Linh District People’s Committee, Phuc Tho District People’s Committee, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and related units.
The 1980th anniversary of Trung Sisters’ Uprising and the Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival in 2020 at the Special National Relic Area – Hai Ba Trung Temple (Me Linh district) will take place on January 30, 2020 (the 6th day of the first month of the Year of Mouse).

Traditional activities of Trung Sisters’ Temple Festival (Me Linh district) in 2020 take place from January 30, 2020, to the end of February 1, 2020 (the 6th day to the end of the 8th day of the first month of the Lunar calendar in Canh Ty year) with many activities: incense offering to commemorate at the Special National Relic Area of Hai Ba Trung Temple, Me Linh district; Organizing rituals and cultural and belief activities according to traditional rituals at Hai Ba Trung Temple, Ha Loi Communal House and relevant relics in the locality.
The 1980th anniversary of the Trung Sisters’ Uprising and the reception of a Special National relic ranking certificate of the complex of Hai Ba Trung Temple relics (Dong Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district) will be held on February 28, 2020 (the 6th day of the second month of the Lunar calendar in Canh Ty year). The content of the program includes Incense offering at Hai Ba Trung Temple; speech on the 1980th anniversary of Trung Sisters’ Uprising and the opening of the Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival (Dong Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district) in 2020; announcement of the Prime Minister’s decision to rank a Special national relic to Hai Ba Trung Temple relics complex, Dong Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district and receipt of a special national relic ranking certificate, etc.
Traditional activities of Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival (Dong Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district) take place from February 27, 2020, to the end of February 28, 2020 (from the 5th to the end of the 6th day in the second month in Lunar calendar in Canh Ty year). Specifically, offering incense to commemorate at Hai Ba Trung Temple (Dong Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district), organizing traditional arts, folk games; holding an Art Program to celebrate the 1980th anniversary of Trung Sisters’ Uprising and receiving a special national relic ranking certificate for the Hai Ba Trung Temple special relics complex.
Hat Mon temple’s traditional festival and the 1980th anniversary of Trung Sisters’ Uprising (Phuc Tho district) will take place on March 29, 2020 (March 6, Canh Ty year in the lunar calendar). Content of the program: Communion of the village, sacrifice to the banquet; procession of floating cake from Hat Mon commune People’s Committee to Hat Mon temple; the 1980th anniversary of Trung Sisters’ Uprising; incense offering; martial arts performances, folk games, popular folk songs (folk songs and traditional music).
In the framework of the festival, there are also activities in 3 days (27, 28 and 29/3/2020) such as: Organizing incense offering to commemorate at the special national monument of Hat Mon Temple (Phuc Tho district); rituals and cultural and belief activities according to traditional rituals.
Through commemorative activities, the Hanoi City People’s Committee also desires traditional education for generations of the Capital; introduce, promote images, promote the special value of relics. Commemorative activities promote the national cultural identity, following traditional rituals, attract the participation of numerous people and visitors.
