Under the excellent leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the spirit of national solidarity combined with the strength of the times, the tradition of fighting against enemies to hold the country for thousands of years together with modern military art and the aspiration for peace along with the willingness to unify the country of each Vietnamese created the source of power to defeat enemies who had many times higher military potential and modern technology. It can be said that the Great Victory in Spring 1975 was the great victory of patriotism, the aspiration for peace and independence of the Vietnamese nation.
In the war against the US to save the country, there were so many generations of Vietnamese people who had postponed their study to join the war. Although Vietnamese people at that time did not want war, they must hold a gun. Having suffered many painful losses, Vietnamese people understand better than anyone the value of peace. Blood and tears of many generations of Vietnamese people in the past were exchanged for the peace, independence and unity of today. Therefore, it is impossible to exchange the value of a nation for unreasonable and involuntary peace.
In the national defense and resistance war, Hanoi was both a firm stronghold of the great Northern defender, a supplier of human resources and the strength of the great frontline of the South, directly confronted the invaders. With the sparks of Thang Long’s spirit, Hanoi becomes a conscience and dignity of people. In 12 days and nights in the winter of 1972, “Thang Long fire dragon” dug up the US flying fortress, created the famous “Dien Bien Phu in the air”, forced the US imperialist to sign in the Paris Agreement to end the war, reformed the peace in Vietnam, created a big turning point and established a new state on the battlefield for our army and people to make the Great Victory of Spring 1975. The Hanoians were proud to have made important contributions to the great victory of the whole nation.
Our country turned to a new area with a new creation in the era of globalization and international economic integration. Nowadays, each Vietnamese is not allowed to forget history, not to alleviate the pain and loss of the war. We must appreciate the past in gratitude for generations of Vietnamese who sacrificed themselves for peace and independence of the nation, which is the best way to look forward to the future. Each of us needs to better understand the value of peace to affirm our responsibility to the country and the nation to join hands and unite to build a prosperous Vietnam in the new flow of the times./.
