This is the second time, Ha Noi Capital becomes an official venue for hosting SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games. In the context of continuing to encounter the impacts of Covid-19, Viet Nam will do her utmost in making preparations so as to make it successfully, by which showing unity, friendship and mutual understanding among ASEAN. Other than that, the kick-off ceremony of SEA Games 31 and ASEAN Para Games 11 held on the morning of 21 November is an important event marking a year start (according to the rules of the international games) ahead of the event what will be taking place in Viet Nam in 2021.
The ceremony started by the special art performances, as a strong committment that Viet Nam is prepared to host the games.
Pressing the countdown button is the most significant moment at the ceremony, with the presence of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Ha Noi People’s Committee, together with representatives from ASEAN Embassies stationed in Ha Noi.
At the function, the logo and Fun Mascot of SEA Games 31 and ASEAN Para Games 11 have been declared. Sao La-a red book animal is chosen as the Games’ mascot while the Games’ logo is made as “flying bird wings-V shaped palm”.
The ceremony is also followed by the run around Hoan Kiem lake and the motorcade show, with a large crowd of thounsands of runners.
The delegates together with the athletes of Ha Noi national sports teams paraded around Hoan Kiem lake in response of the programme “Kick off with SEA Games 31″.
