A popular swimming session for children
The Action of Month for Children (from June 1 to June 30, 2020) has the theme “Joining hands to protect children, prevent child abuse”. The district mobilizes the active participation of departments and mass organizations to organize many effective and practical activities to care for children in the area. Accordingly, Thuong Tin district will promote the mobilization of human resources for the Child Protection Fund, give presents to children in difficult circumstances, organize communication and training activities on the Law on Children, prevention of violence and child abuse in key areas and areas with a high risk of child abuse; guide the process and follow up the implementation of support and intervention for children experiencing violence and abuse and children at risk of abuse; organize cultural education activities in accordance with the actual situation; strengthen communication, education, equip children with life skills, especially skills to prevent abuse in the social network environment; accident and injury prevention and control skills, self-protection skills associated with COVID-19 pandemic prevention skills.
In order to effectively implement cultural, physical training and sports activities, the District People’s Committee requests the District Office of Culture, Information and Sports to direct and guide the grassroots and affiliated units to effectively use public play spots, organize the implementation of the 2020 swimming plan, safety skills in a water environment for children in the area (note to ensure safety for children depending on the actual situation of COVID-19 pandemic locally). To organize the inspection, supervision and to handle entertainment service points for children that do not ensure safety standards; establishments trading in toys, harmful cultural products, endanger the health and healthy development of children, etc. To strengthen information content to serve the needs of culture, entertainment for the children during the summer holidays.
The district also proposed the People’s Committees of communes and towns to promote effectively the role of collaborators working on children in villages and residential groups in understanding the situation of children in the area; to promptly handle child violence and abuse cases, especially intervening and providing timely and effective assistance to cases of violence or abuse of children.
