With the joint efforts of officials and people, Soc Son district has been recognized as a new rural district in 2020, in which many criteria have reached a high level such as planning, traffic, irrigation, health – culture – education… Soc Son district today is “changing for the better”, rural appearance flourishes, farmer’s life is increasingly improved. Actively contributing to the overall achievement of the district is the participation of the Women’s Union and the District Youth Union with many practical activities to protect the environment, form a civilized and elegant lifestyle, make the village more beautiful and more livable.

Actively responding to the “All people join hands to build a new countryside and a civilized city” campaign, the “All people unite to build a cultural life” movement, the Women’s Union, the Youth Union from the district to the communes implemented many practical activities which attracted a large number of officials, members and union members to participate, creating positive changes in the appearance of the countryside, improving the quality of people’s lives. The District Women’s Union has surveyed the roads, developed a plan to implement the flower routes and sections, turned the places for illegal waste into flower gardens, and planted flowers in the district’s vacant land along the roadside, around houses, cultural houses…then populated to the Women’s Unions of 26 communes and towns. The grassroots associations have actively propagated and mobilized officials and members to register and implement the contents and criteria of the flower routes and sections, and actively participate in environmental sanitation and protection.
After completion, the flower routes and sections will be accepted by the Women’s Unions of communes and townships, and if they meet the criteria, they will be attached with signs. Currently, the whole Soc Son district has 70 model flower routes. Flowers are grown such as Five-color, orchid, purple cherry, moss roses, rain lily, ban flower, Ruellia Simplex, paper flower, marigold… regularly taken care of and beautified the living space more beautiful and more peaceful.

The Youth Union of Soc Son district has effectively implemented the “Soc Son youth join hands in building a new countryside and urban civilization” movement with the active response of the Youth Unions of communes and towns as well as the consensus of the Youth Union of Soc Son district members and youth. Promoting the enthusiasm of the youth, awareness of the community, the Youth Union at all levels in the district has effectively implemented and maintained the weekly general cleaning, the “bright – green – clean – beautiful – safe – civilized” roads, “Lighting up rural traffic”, participating in removing illegal advertisements in the area. Youth Month 2021, the whole district planted 6,500 new trees; launched 78 environmental cleaning sessions; building 11 new “Youth tree rows”, “Youth flower garden”; 02 children’s playgrounds in Bac Phu commune, Tien Duoc commune; 01 outdoor stage in Xuan Giang commune; 02 sections of wall murals in Trung Gia commune, Thanh Xuan; 01 House of kindness in Thanh Xuan commune… total value of over VND 1 billion. Up to now, the whole district has 1 city-level youth project in Trung Gia commune; 14 district-level works and 54 grassroots-level youth works… The works have practical effects in the implementation of building the cultural life of localities.
With the implementation of movements and campaigns, the material and spiritual life of the people of Soc Son district has been significantly improved. 25/25 new rural communes have changed positively, the poverty rate of the whole district has decreased to 0.7%; the proportion of rich and well-off households increased significantly. Village love, good customs, practices, traditional cultural values are preserved and promoted in daily life.

The practical work of the Women’s Union and the Youth Union has actively contributed to the achievement of the district’s new rural construction, making Soc Son district greener – cleaner – more beautiful, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the People. At the same time, it has the effect of arousing and fostering the sense of responsibility of officials, members, union members and the community in environmental protection, building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
