On the morning of November 26, at the Center of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, the Hanoi Department of Tourism held a press conference to inform about the program of the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival in 2022. Accordingly, the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival in 2022 includes the following programs: The opening ceremony will be televised live on Hanoi Radio – Television Station at 20:00, December 2, 2022 (Friday); Ao Dai Tourism Music Festival on December 3, 2022 (Saturday); The closing ceremony will take place on December 4, 2022. All 3 events will be held at the Stage in front of the Monument “Determined to Brave Death for the Survival of the Fatherland”.
Within the framework of the festival, there are also side activities such as: Displaying, introducing official product to the public from 18:00 on December 2, 2022 and ends at 22:00 on December 4. 2022, including: Historical space of Vietnamese Ao Dai; Booth space to display and introduce products with 50 booths arranged at Dinh Tien Hoang street (from Hang Bai to the Monument “Determined to Brave Death for the Survival of the Fatherland”), introducing products of designers, ao dai brands from North – Central – South regions, products from Hanoi’s craft villages, airlines, travel agencies, hotels, tourist attractions, shopping facilities…
In addition, there are art and Ao Dai performances of Hanoi Women’s Union; Ao Dai performance of the Hanoi Youth Union; performance of business women’s Ao Dai. In particular, this year, the Organizing Committee also opens a contest to create new designs and decorations on the Ao Dai for training institutions and young fashion designers.

Speaking at the press conference, Director of the Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang emphasized, continuing the success of the events: Hanoi Tourism welcomes 2022 with the theme “Get on Hanoi 2022”, “Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2022”, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2022 with the goal of gradually restoring and developing tourism activities in the capital; exploiting and honoring the traditional ao dai of the Vietnamese people as a source of creativity and a product of unique and effective forms of tourism.
According to the Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, this is an opportunity to promote and link cooperation through the ao dai of the North – Central – South regions; creating opportunities to promote, introduce, exchange and cooperate for development between Hanoi’s tourism businesses and artisans, designers, and ao dai brands; continuing to promote the image of Hanoi tourism “A safe – friendly – quality – attractive destination”. In 2022, Hanoi is honored to receive the award “World’s Leading City Tourism Destination 2022” voted by the World Travel Awards.

“Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2022 will be one of two typical events of the capital’s tourism, attracting the attention of a large number of Hanoi people, domestic tourists and international friends; at the same time, it is an activity that links fashion with tourism, a continuation of stories about Hanoi’s culture and Vietnamese culture through the national ao dai,” added Director of the Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang.
