Celebrating the 21st anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (June 28, 2001-June 28, 2022), in response to the National Action Month on domestic violence prevention and control, Dong Anh District People’s Committee recently held a Family Sports and Culture Festival at the film studio area of Dong Hoi commune. Comrades Leaders of District People’s Committee, District Culture and Information Office, District Culture, Information and Sports Center; Vice Chairmen of the People’s Committee, civil servants of culture and society in 24 communes and towns and representatives of typical cultural families attended the event.
At the Festival, the Organizing Committee organized many practical activities such as, Meeting, organizing for families to participate in games and sports activities such as, tug of war, Sack Jumping, collective activities, giving gifts to typical cultural families, etc.
In the speech at the festival, comrade Nguyen Thi Tam – Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee – Vice Chairman of Dong Anh District People’s Committee said that June 28 every year was Vietnamese Family Day, which honored family traditions, towards the goal of building a Vietnamese family “Prosperity, equality, progress, happiness and sustainable development”.
She affirmed the role of the family in today’s society and raised the responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels in raising awareness of each family and community on the issue of family building in the current period of industrialization and modernization of the country. Culture – Sports Festival was a practical activity of Dong Anh district organized annually by the district. The festival was also an opportunity to honor families well building a prosperous, equal, progressive and happy family, contributing to promoting the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families in Dong Anh district.
