World Cultural Heritage tourist attraction Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – Hanoi is located at 19C Hoang Dieu, Quan Thanh ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi city. The organization and management of the tourist destination is the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center.
To manage, exploit and develop tourist attractions in a sustainable and effective manner, the City People’s Committee requests the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center – Hanoi to implement activities in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Tourism and relevant legal documents. Departments of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Natural Resources and Environment, Construction, Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, Hanoi City Police, Ba Dinh District People’s Committee, Director The Director of the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center – Hanoi are requested to be responsible for guiding the organization of management, exploitation and investment in the construction of the World Cultural Heritage tourist site in the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – Hanoi in accordance with the regulations of the law and of the City, ensuring sustainable and effective development.

The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long is a complex of relics associated with the history of the Thang Long-Dong Kinh citadel and the Hanoi city, starting from the pre-Thang Long period (An Nam dominated area in the 7th century) to Dinh-Tien Le dynasties, flourished under the Ly, Tran, and Le dynasties and the citadel of Hanoi under the Nguyen Dynasty. This is a massive architectural work built by kings in many historical periods and has become one of the most important monuments in the system of Vietnamese monuments.
At 20:30 on July 31, 2010 local time in Brazil, ie 6:30 on August 1, 2010 Vietnam time, the World Heritage Committee of the Organization for Education, Science and Culture of the United Nations (UNESCO) has passed a resolution to recognize the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – Hanoi as a world cultural heritage. The outstanding global values of this heritage site are recognized by three outstanding features, including the length of cultural history throughout 13 centuries, the continuity of the heritage as a center of power, and the diverse, rich and vivid layers of relics.
