Within the framework of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day, the Management Board of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in collaboration with relevant units organized a cultural forum with the topic “Promoting cultural traditions of ethnic groups in building up a cultural environment”. Overview of the Forum
Delivering the opening speech at the Forum, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet affirmed that during the process of leading the country, the Party and State have always paid their attention to the development of the national culture. At the forum, cultural scientists and researchers launched presentations and raised opinions, focusing on some following issues: The national cultural environment must be considered as a foundation in building up a cultural environment in our country at present; especially, it is necessary to pay special attention to the ethnic cultural environment (religion, art…).
Opinions at the forum also raised the importance of the national culture in the process of building the current cultural environment and it is said that building a cultural environment is a focus task of the cultural, sports and tourism sector. However, in ethnic minority areas, this task should be based on the characteristics of each locality, appropriate policies, resources and methods…
Some urgent issues at present include: The implementation should be carried out in building the cultural environment in ethnic minority areas; Focusing on promoted traditional management institutions with establishing the cultural environment. Opinions and presentations at the seminar highlighted the beauties of the national culture and the importance of national culture in the process of building the current cultural environment, etc.
The forum also received many practical opinions from localities on building a cultural environment, which cover advantages and disadvantages during the implementation process, achieved results as well as limitations in the building process.
