In Response to the Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Action Month for the year 2023, themed “Ensuring Social Welfare, Empowering Women and Girls for Gender Equality, and Eliminating Gender-Based Violence,” the extensive and concrete dissemination was underscored through practical activities. Opening the program with an inaugural speech, Ms. Pham Thuy Hoa, District Party Committee Member and Chairwoman of the District Women’s Union in Ung Hoa, urged women’s union members at all levels and officials to focus on implementing key aspects:
Firstly, effectively realize the theme of the 2023 Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Action Month: “Empowering women is enhancing the nation’s stature; Gender equality, civilized society, and happy families.” Each women’s union official should exemplify the Party’s policies, and legal principles of the state, and mobilize comprehensive participation from all levels, sectors, and community members actively, particularly emphasizing the roles of women, girls, and men in achieving national gender equality goals.
Secondly, organize specialized activities, seminars, and forums on gender equality, anti-violence, and prevention of violence against women and children, linked with the movement to build “5 No 3 Clean” families and the model of “5 Good 3 Clean.” This includes a focus on the criterion “No violence in the family, having a safe home, and sustainable livelihoods.” Encourage the emulation movement “Building Graceful, Innovative, Reliable, and Elegant Capital Women” and involve men and individuals with influence in the community and groups of women with limited access to information.
Thirdly, proactively advise and organize meetings and dialogues on gender equality and social welfare. Contribute warmth by delivering shelters of affection and giving gifts to women and children facing difficult circumstances.
Fourthly, take the initiative to participate in monitoring the implementation of laws and policies on gender equality, family violence prevention, and children’s rights. Timely identify, speak out, and propose authorities and relevant sectors to seriously handle cases of violence and harassment against women and children, providing support to victims to access assistance services and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of women and children.
