Ung Hoa District: 143 Community Centers and Meeting Points Equipped with Free Wi-Fi

Ung Hoa District recently concluded its 2024 competition for developing “Green, Civilized, and Modern” facilities. The initiative has contributed to enhancing new rural development criteria and improving the rural landscape.

At the conference, Truong The Huu, Deputy Head of the District’s Culture and Information Department, reported that participating communes and towns have invested in planting and maintaining various greenery systems, including landscape trees, shade trees, ornamental plants, flowers, and grass.

The district features numerous flower-lined streets enhancing the landscape.

Many rural roads have been enhanced with additional shade trees planted by residents, flower-lined streets have been developed, and residential areas and public spaces are maintained with greenery, cleanliness, and beauty to improve quality of life. Notable examples include: Dai Cuong Commune planting 1,100 trees; Phuong Tu Commune planting 860 Taiwanese banyan trees, bell trees, mahogany, and yellow bells in Dong Phi, Phi Trach, and Ngoc Dong hamlets; Quang Phu Cau Commune planting 578 berberis trees and roses.

All communes have implemented waste sorting at source; 100% of communes and towns maintain weekly garbage collection schedules of 3-4 times per week; 100% of hamlet cultural houses are regularly cleaned, with flowers and trees planted in their grounds to create beautiful landscapes. The district has 97 hamlets and residential areas equipped with outdoor fitness equipment.

Residents actively plant and care for trees and flowers while maintaining environmental hygiene.

With strong engagement from both the political system and residents, the district now features approximately 1,000 murals and propaganda paintings, contributing to enhanced rural development criteria. Notable examples include Hoa Son Commune with 30 murals covering over 250m² in hamlets and schools; Dong Lo Commune with 27 murals spanning 175m² and floral designs on 300 utility poles; Dai Cuong Commune with 150m² of murals and floral designs on 205 utility poles; and Cao Thanh Commune with 500m² of murals.

The district has approximately 1,000 murals and propaganda paintings.

Actively participating in the competition, Ung Hoa District residents contributed numerous work days and over 2.2 billion VND to renovate cultural house grounds, convert commune ponds into swimming pools, install outdoor fitness equipment, free advertising boards, plant trees, and paint murals. Notable contributions include: Hoa Son Commune mobilizing 440 million VND; Dong Lo Commune 600 million VND; and Lien Bat Commune 704.5 million VND.

100% of Cultural House grounds feature flowers and trees.

Regarding “Civilization” and “Modernization,” all communes and towns strictly implement the Code of Conduct for officials, civil servants, and workers. They are equipped with computers, printers, scanners, and surveillance cameras. All 177 administrative procedures across 14 sectors are publicly posted at commune-level one-stop shops, along with working regulations and citizen reception schedules. All officials use the shared three-level electronic one-stop system, document management software, and official email accounts. Level 3 online public services are effectively implemented, staff working styles have become more professional, 143 cultural houses and meeting points have been equipped with free Wi-Fi, and all hamlets have installed 1-3 free advertising boards.

At the closing ceremony, Ung Hoa District honored 35 groups and 25 individuals for outstanding achievements in implementing the “Green, Civilized, and Modern” facilities competition in 2024.
