Quang Tien Commune was first recognized as meeting new rural standards in 2017. The commune has continued implementing various solutions to maintain and enhance existing criteria while striving toward advanced and model new rural area status. For the self-selected model new rural area criteria, Quang Tien Commune proposed three fields: healthcare, culture, and production.

Quang Tien’s local government identified building a model new rural area as a key task for the entire political system, establishing principles that rely primarily on internal resources while leveraging social resources and promoting people’s initiative and autonomy. The Quang Tien Party Committee issued a specialized resolution on developing the model new rural commune, strengthened the Steering Committee, and developed an action program for implementation. Party members were assigned to oversee each hamlet.

Thanks to close guidance from Soc Son District’s Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee, along with flexible, proactive, and creative management by local authorities and unified community support, Quang Tien has successfully achieved its targets for developing advanced and model new rural areas.

During the 2021-2025 period, the commune invested hundreds of billions of dong in new rural development. Currently, 100% of main routes and inter-hamlet roads are paved with concrete or asphalt and equipped with lighting; all six hamlets have achieved cultural hamlet status and have cultural houses or community gathering spaces. Health insurance coverage reaches 97.4%, and average annual income per person is 76.03 million dong. The commune now has no poor households. The rural landscape has become increasingly modern and well-developed.

Speaking at the ceremony, Do Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Soc Son District People’s Committee, urged the locality to maintain and improve model new rural criteria comprehensively and systematically, focusing on infrastructure solutions that meet administrative unit standards. Additionally, local authorities should continue promoting economic restructuring toward services and trade, developing organic and high-tech agriculture, applying scientific and technical advances in production and monitoring, and building agricultural product brands. Simultaneously, they should preserve and promote historical and cultural heritage sites while developing tourism and protecting the environment.
