The organizing committee presented commemorative flags to the participating units.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai stated that the competition was organized to create a platform and opportunity for unicorn, dragon, and lion dance teams from various districts to exchange, learn, and improve their professional skills. The results of the competition will be used to select outstanding athletes to participate in the 10th National Sports Games in 2026, held in Ho Chi Minh City.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai delivered the opening speech.
The organizing committee noted that this is the first city-level competition of its kind, and although it has not yet attracted many participants, it will serve as a foundation for developing the unicorn, dragon, and lion dance movement in the city in the future.

Teams compete in the Nine-Section Dragon event.
In recent years, the practice of unicorn, dragon, and lion dancing has flourished particularly in Hoang Mai District, Thanh Oai District, Ung Hoa District, and Chuong My District. Most communes, wards, and towns in these areas have unicorn, dragon, and lion dance clubs that have developed from traditional martial arts schools of various sects.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the teams began competing in the events.
