The festival will take place from November 29, 2024, to December 1, 2024, at Thong Nhat Park. The opening ceremony will be held at 7:00 PM on November 29, with participation from various agencies, embassies of countries in Vietnam, foreign diplomatic missions in Hanoi, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, the Vietnam Chefs Association, and many related organizations.

With 80 booths open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, the festival will offer visitors many exciting experiences through diverse culinary spaces, including an International Culinary Area: showcasing and presenting signature dishes from various participating countries, along with displaying typical consumer products. This will contribute to cultural exchange, experience sharing, and expanding investment and business cooperation opportunities. There will also be a Traditional Culinary Cultural Space, where artisans will demonstrate the creation of traditional food products with notable culinary skills from Hanoi, such as Pho Hanoi, Ho Tay Shrimp Cake, Phu Do Noodles, Uoc Le Pork Rolls, Vong Village Rice Cakes, Me Tri Green Rice, Phung Spring Rolls, Quan Ganh Rice Cakes, Phu Nhi Rice Cakes, Quang Phu Cau Rice Porridge, Ha Mo Rice Porridge, So Village Noodles. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the local food and products through interactive activities, showcasing the distinctive, creative culinary arts of the region, where skilled chefs “breathe life” into dishes that become unique culinary masterpieces rich in national identity for people, visitors, and international friends to enjoy and experience Vietnamese food culture.

Furthermore, the festival will host a photography exhibition promoting artworks about domestic and international culture, tourism, and food, along with images of diplomatic cooperation between countries.

Small scenic displays made from natural, eco-friendly materials such as bamboo, rattan, lanterns, hats, fans, etc., will also be featured. A mobile book exhibition will introduce books promoting cultural arts, tourism, and cuisine, either domestically or internationally, and the collaboration between nations. The festival will include folk games and traditional and modern art performances.

At the main stage, a seminar on preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage – Pho Hanoi, will be held at 9:00 AM on December 1. Earlier, a specialized seminar titled “Organizing Seminars and Exchanges to Enhance Human Resource Quality – Developing Hanoi’s Culinary Culture” will be held on November 30, 2024, to discuss solutions for developing human resources in Hanoi’s culinary sector.

Pho Hanoi: A Delightful Experience for Visitors at the Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival 2024

A special highlight of the festival will be the “Digital Pho of Ha Thanh” program. Here, guests will have the opportunity to experience “Traditional Pho from Hanoi” and “Digital Pho,” where smart robots prepare each bowl of pho precisely, from boiling the broth to serving it at the dining table. These robots will replace humans in production and service tasks, creating a culinary experience that could be spread across regions. This not only showcases technological development in the culinary field but also introduces Hanoi’s traditional dishes in a fresh, modern light.

According to Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival 2024 is an opportunity for Hanoi and embassies, localities, individuals, and organizations to meet, exchange, showcase products, and sign business cooperation agreements. It strengthens people-to-people diplomacy, contributes positively to raising mutual understanding, and tightens the friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam, particularly Hanoi, and international friends.

With the theme “Hanoi Connects the World,” the festival not only honors, preserves, and promotes the cultural and culinary values of Hanoi but also contributes to effectively building and promoting the city’s brand as an attractive destination for culture, food, and tourism for both domestic and international audiences.
