Trang Quynh is a well-known figure in Vietnamese folk literature. He is depicted as intelligent, witty, and deeply loved by the people for his bravery in standing up against oppression. Through humorous and incisive satire, Trang Quynh often mocked the feudal officials and the monarchy, which endeared him to the masses.

Tears of Trang Quynh was written by Le Chi Trung and Thien An, adapted into Cheo by Mai Van Sinh, directed by Meritorious Artist Le Tuan, with choreography by Meritorious Artist Hoai Anh, artic design by artist Ngo Thang, music by musician Tat Trong, and Cheo singing instruction and editing by People’s Artist Minh Thu. The artistic direction is led by People’s Artist Thu Huyen.

The Cheo play “Tears of Trang Quynh” not only provides gentle humor but also leaves profound reflections on justice, integrity, and the spirit of fighting against societal injustices.

The play is scheduled to debut for the audience in the capital in early Spring 2025.
