The People’s Committee of Hai Ba Trung District recently held a program to introduce the book “Historical and Cultural Sites of Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi” and cultural products utilizing information technology for tourism development in the district.

The 383-page book, “Historical and Cultural Sites of Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi”, employs advanced technology and is available in printed and electronic formats, featuring voice narration and QR codes for ease of use. The book aims to introduce cultural heritage, educate younger generations about traditions, preserve cultural identity, and maximize the district’s tourism potential. It consists of two main sections and two appendices.

Section I, titled “General Issues”, includes five thematic articles summarizing the historical and cultural sites, conservation efforts, management strategies, and the preservation of artifacts.
Section II, titled “Introduction of Specific Sites”, presents detailed descriptions of 51 listed historical and cultural sites. The articles are arranged alphabetically by the ward names where the sites are located, rather than by the sites’ rankings or historical significance.

The content follows a standardized structure, highlighting key information about each site, including its name, address, historical context, events, notable figures, distinctive features, cultural and religious activities, site description, artifacts, cultural and historical value, current conservation status, and official recognition date and rank. Accompanying the text are illustrative images that further emphasize the sites’ unique values.

At the book launch event, Tran Quyet Thang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Ba Trung District People’s Council, noted that alongside the book’s release in both printed and electronic formats, the district has also introduced a system of public electronic information boards (18 LED screens). These include two district-level boards installed at the headquarters of the District People’s Council and People’s Committee and the Department of Education and Training, as well as 16 boards located at ward-level offices.

Tran Quyet Thang called on the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district, political-social organizations, mass associations, and district-level agencies to actively promote the use of the public information boards. He encouraged various forms of communication to reach officials, residents, students, and youth, such as introducing links and QR codes to cultural products at agency offices, community centers, public venues, libraries, schools, and traditional halls, etc.

At the event, representatives from city and district authorities officially launched the book, distributed copies to relevant units, and screened video clips showcasing the district’s IT-based cultural products. These include the website “3600 Historical and Cultural Sites of Hai Ba Trung District”, the tourism handbook “Hai Ba Trung District: A Dynamic and Creative Cultural Destination”, and the public electronic information system (LED screens).

Tourism Handbook: “Hai Ba Trung District: A Dynamic and Creative Cultural Destination”

In early 2024, the district published the tourism handbook “Hai Ba Trung District: A Dynamic and Creative Cultural Destination” in both printed and electronic formats. By May 2024, marking the district’s 63rd founding anniversary, the website “3600 Historical and Cultural Sites of Hai Ba Trung District” was officially launched. These initiatives reflect the district’s innovative efforts to implement Program No. 05 of the District Party Committee on “Cultural and Social Development, Promoting the Construction of Elegant and Civilized Hanoians, and Improving the Quality of Human Resources in Hai Ba Trung District for the 2021-2025 Period”. They are also aligned with the district’s Plan No. 189-KH-UBND on implementing Specialized Subject No. 11 on “Preserving and Promoting the Value of Historical and Cultural Sites in Hai Ba Trung District in Connection with Tourism Development for the 2021-2025 Period.”
