Implemented under Thanh Oai District Committee’s Program No. 04-CTr/HU on “Cultural and Tourism Development; Enhancing Human Resource Quality; Building Cultured and Civilized Thanh Oai Residents in Hanoi for 2021-2025”, aligned with the 2018 General Education Program, the Historical Sites and Craft Village Experience Program was launched in the 2024-2025 academic year. The initiative aims to connect education, culture, and history, creating valuable opportunities to nurture young people’s love and pride in understanding and appreciating their hometown’s traditional values.

On December 6, 2024, the Thanh Oai Inter-Departmental Committee organized a Historical Sites and Craft Village Experience Program for 600 students from Cu Ke Elementary School. The program helps students gain deeper insights into local history and culture, develop soft skills like teamwork and observation, and foster an appreciation for heritage while aligning with the 2018 General Education Program’s developmental goals.

During the event, students participated in activities exploring their roots, paying respects, and listening to historical site explanations at Noi Binh Da Temple in Binh Minh Commune – a site honoring the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan. They also experienced the traditional leaf hat-making craft at Chuong Village Communal House in Phuong Trung Commune. This provided an opportunity for students to directly observe, discover, and feel the beauty of Thanh Oai: historical sites marking heroic and poignant stories, and traditional craft villages where skilled artisans create beautiful, useful, and valuable handicrafts. Each location sparked curiosity, excitement, and pride.

The program offers students and younger generations a special opportunity to better understand the heritage values preserved by their ancestors for generations, and to clearly recognize their responsibility in conserving and promoting their hometown’s heritage./.
