On June 8, Binh Minh Commune (Thanh Oai District) held a ceremony to receive the City-Level Historical and Cultural Monument Certificate for the Bui Family Ancestral House, Minh Kha Village, Binh Minh Commune.
According to the genealogy, the Bui family of Minh Kha Village has long been renowned as a “land of scholars, home of virtuous people.” The ancestors of the Bui family have been present and established their livelihood in this area since the Tien Le period. Many family members achieved academic success and held important positions in the royal administrations of the Le and Nguyen dynasties, including Mr. Bui Uyen, who passed the Huong Cong examination under the Le Canh Hung reign and once held the position of Hoa Duyet Phu Quan.
The Bui Family Ancestral House has a long history, closely associated with a distinguished and eminent family lineage. The house was constructed in traditional architectural style, initially built during the Nguyen period, renovated during the Bao Dai era, and most recently restored in 2024.

The Bui Family Ancestral House complex, including the gate, screen wall, and main hall, features exquisite carvings that reflect the beauty of traditional architecture and folk aesthetics. The ancestral house also preserves valuable relics such as horizontal boards, couplets, and incense altars, which hold high artistic and historical significance.
Not only a place preserving memories of revered ancestors, the Bui Family Ancestral House also serves as the spiritual and cultural activity center for the family. Annual rituals such as ancestor worship, ceremonial offerings, longevity blessings, and encouragement of learning are solemnly maintained, contributing to the transmission of traditional education to future generations.
With these significant values, on May 24, 2025, the Hanoi People’s Committee issued Decision No. 2618/QD-UBND, officially recognizing the Bui Family Ancestral House as a City-Level Historical and Cultural Monument.
This designation acknowledges the exceptional historical and cultural value of the site and is a source of pride for the Bui family of Binh Minh Commune in particular, and Thanh Oai District in general. The Bui family and the Monument Management Board will continue to promote the family’s traditions of unity, scholarly pursuit, and filial piety; strengthen responsibility in managing and maintaining rituals; preserve relics and architectural works in their original state; and prevent any violations. In particular, they aim to connect family members both domestically and abroad to jointly safeguard the monument as a spiritual symbol, fostering intergenerational cohesion, and to develop the Bui Family Ancestral House into a local cultural and spiritual tourism destination.
