Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council, attended the ceremony.

Xa Dan Pagoda was classified as a national-level architectural and artistic relic by the Ministry of Culture (currently known as the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) in 1990. The restoration and renovation project of Xa Dan Pagoda was approved by the Dong Da District People’s Council under Resolution No. 07/NQ-HDND dated April 13, 2023, and by the Dong Da District People’s Committee under Decision No. 2841/QD-UBND dated September 25, 2023.

The project has a total investment of VND 41.8 billion, covering: restoration and renovation of the main gate, main hall, mother goddess hall, and ancestral hall; construction of new buildings including the nuns’ quarters, kitchen, dining hall, stele house, pavilion for burning ritual offerings, toilets, and auxiliary structures along Tran Huu Tuoc Street; renovation of the Jade Well and large pond, and landscaping of the courtyard and garden.

Construction began in July 2024 and was completed and handed over for use in April 2025. After restoration and renovation, Xa Dan Pagoda is expected to become a prominent destination for visitors to explore and enjoy, while also serving to educate younger generations about cultural and historical traditions.

The construction project of Phuong Lien Kindergarten and the renovation and expansion of Phuong Lien Primary School (No. 6, Dao Duy Anh Street) were approved by the Dong Da District People’s Council under Resolution No. 11/NQ-HDND dated June 30, 2023, and by the Dong Da District People’s Committee under Decision No. 2839/QD-UBND dated September 25, 2023, and Decision No. 2840/QD-UBND dated September 25, 2023. The project includes:

The Phuong Lien Kindergarten construction project has a total investment of VND 74.8 billion, including: the construction of a new main building with 4 above-ground floors and 1 basement, housing classrooms and functional rooms; the development of a complete technical infrastructure system and auxiliary structures outside the building (schoolyard, gates, fences); and the provision of additional equipment.

The renovation and expansion project of Phuong Lien Primary School has a total investment of VND 72.3 billion, including: renovating and raising the main 3-story building to 4 stories; constructing a new 4-story building with 1 basement; renovating and developing a complete technical infrastructure system and auxiliary structures outside the building (schoolyard, drainage, fences); and providing additional equipment.

Both the kindergarten and primary school projects began in May 2024 and were completed and handed over for use in March 2025.
