On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day 2/9, the Hanoi Cultural and Library Center organizes a thematic reading room titled “The August Revolution and National Day 2/9 – The Historic Autumn Days”.
The reading room presents a wide range of valuable materials, recreating the heroic spirit of the autumn of 1945, when the entire nation united to rise up and seize power under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. In particular, 2/9/1945 at Ba Dinh Square entered history when Uncle Ho solemnly read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam – the foundation of today’s Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Featured titles such as The Origins of the August Revolution, Ho Chi Minh’s Aspiration, Vietnam – Major Events 1945-1975, and others are introduced in the reading room, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the historical value of the August Revolution and National Day 2/9, affirming the Party’s leadership role, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the spirit of unity and self-reliance of the nation.
Through this activity, love for the homeland and the country is nurtured, national pride is awakened, and inspiration is conveyed regarding the responsibility to build and defend the Fatherland among the younger generation.
The thematic reading room takes place from 19/8 to 5/9/2025 at the Exchange Reading Room – Hanoi Cultural and Library Center (47 Ba Trieu, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi).
