On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (19/8/1945 – 19/8/2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2/9/1945 – 2/9/2025), the Hanoi Cultural and Library Center organizes a book and newspaper exhibition themed “Vietnam – 80 Years on the Journey of Independence, Freedom and Happiness.”

This is a political and cultural activity of special significance, contributing to the awakening of national pride, paying tribute to previous generations who sacrificed for independence, and at the same time affirming the spirit of self-reliance, resilience, and the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy country of the People of Vietnam.

More than 400 selected titles of books, newspapers, and valuable documents are introduced to readers. Through these materials, the nation’s 80-year historical journey is vividly re-enacted: from the August Revolution of 1945, the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, to the major achievements in today’s cause of renewal, integration, and development.

The exhibition is organized around four main themes: “The Communist Party of Vietnam – The Decisive Factor in the Victory of the Vietnamese Revolution”; “The August Revolution of 1945 – A Great Turning Point in National History”; “The Declaration of Independence of 1945 and the Birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam”; “Vietnam on the Path of Development – Achievements and Prospects.”

The valuable documents on display include: “Historical Milestones of the Communist Party of Vietnam,” “Ho Chi Minh – The Journey to Victory,” “Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh and the Journey to Save the Nation,” “Strategic Vision and the Will to Rise of the Nation,” “From the August Revolution of 1945 to the Ho Chi Minh Campaign of 1975,” “The August Revolution of 1945 in Hanoi,” “The Thousand-Mile Road from Nha Rong Wharf to the Historic Declaration,” “Vietnam’s Renewal and Development,” “The Cultural Value System and the Vietnamese People in the Period of Accelerated Industrialization, Modernization, and International Integration,” “Vietnam’s Geostrategy: Vision to 2030,” and others.

With the richness of its documentary sources, the exhibition not only serves to educate on traditional values, but also opens up a comprehensive perspective on the country’s development journey, affirming the outstanding achievements on the path toward independence, freedom, and happiness of the People of Vietnam over the past 80 years.

The exhibition takes place from August 15 to September 5, 2025, at the first-floor lobby, 54E Tran Hung Dao, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi.
