From July 1 to July 31, 2025, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi) will organize a series of activities under the theme “Visiting the Village to Experience Traditional Culture.”
A key highlight of this activity series is the traditional culture introduction space, where visitors can explore architecture, traditional costumes, folk songs and dances, rituals, festivals, along with various forms of performance arts, traditional musical instrument demonstrations, and folk games.
Through hands-on activities such as craft-making, traditional vocational guidance, ethnic storytelling, tasting regional specialties, and direct interaction with artisans, visitors will have greater opportunities to gain deeper insight into the cultural identities of different regions.

M’nong Community Performing Traditional Instrument Ensemble
On the morning of July 6, at the Khmer Pagoda in Ethnic Villages Area III, the Rain-Retreat Robe Offering Ceremony (Entering the Buddhist Lent) will take place according to Khmer Theravada Buddhist rituals. This solemn and traditional ceremony includes chanting, offering rituals, communal meals, and prayers for peace, expressing the devotion of Buddhist followers to the monks during the annual retreat period. During July 26 and 27, the folk song and dance program “Echoes of the Roots” will be held at the Village III festival yard. Folk music and dance performances presented by ethnic communities themselves will express love for the homeland, gratitude toward previous generations, and faith in the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. The vibrant festival atmosphere, filled with traditional music and folk-art forms, will help audiences deeply experience the spirit of “remembering the source of one’s roots.”
On weekends, visitors can participate in a wide range of activities such as traditional musical instrument performances (T’rung, Dinh put, Chapi…), xoe dancing, lam vong dancing, folk games (throwing con balls, stilt walking, swinging, monkey bridge crossing…), and enjoy regional dishes such as steamed ca ot fish, chicken cooked with bamboo shoots, khau nhuc, smoked meat, stuffed bamboo shoots, and more.
Experiential activities including tea picking, fabric weaving, basket weaving, musical instrument crafting, traditional medicine preparation are also organized at ethnic villages, promising to offer engaging and memorable experiences for visitors.
