On 16 February (9 January of lunar year), at the courtyard of Kinh Thien shrine of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Centre of Heritage Preservation of Thang Long – Ha Noi in coordination with the Association of Cultural heritage of Thang Long-Ha Noi held a thurifying ceremony in early new year’s spring of Binh Than, in memory of the late emperors and ancient sages who well deserved of the nation. Comrade Tran Dai Quang, politbureau member, Minister of the Ministry of Police together with leaders from the central line branches and agencies, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ha Noi People’s Commitee had also attended the thurifying ceremony.
The programme was organized with the traditional rituals as palanquin-carrying, thurifying, deity offering. Starting from 7 a.m, a group of of over 400 palanquin carriers marched into the Dragon Court of Kinh Thien shrine to conduct the offerings in traditional manners.

And then, artisans of Trieu Khuc village, Tan Trieu commune, Thanh Tri district, performed a dragon dance, reappearing the legend of the children of the Fairy and the Dragon – Vietnamese people, praying for peace and prosperity of the nation.
Artisans of Yen Hoa village, Cau Giay district conducted a festival drum performance, demonstrating heroic bravery of Thang Long-Ha Noi, a thousand year cultured history.
After delivering a opening speech, offering male units of Trieu Khuc village, Tan Triêu Commune, Thanh Tri district started their practices. Then delegates together thurified the late emperors. Afterwards, thurifying female units of Yen Hoa temple (Cau Giay district), So Thuong village (Hoang Mai district), Co Que temple and offering male unit of Van Canh commune (Hoai Duc district) exercised the thurifying ceremony respectively.
