On the morning of 12 April, the People’s Committee of Thanh Oai District solemnly held a ceremony to receive the Decision in recognition of the national precious object which was carved in the shape of Lac Long Quan statue and Hung king reign figures.

The statue carving board being kept at Dinh Noi relic (alias a temple worshipping National Ancestor Lac Long Quan) at Binh Da commune, Binh Minh hamlet is the only one in Ha Noi as well as outskirting northern areas whose nature tells about National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and Hung king reign figures dated back 19th and early 20th century. The statue carving has been made dexteriously on the golden covered wood panel, which lively describes the life under Hung king reign when Lac Long Quan together with his ranks and files watching boat rowing competition festival. It portrays him in king mantle being seated on the throne, wearing the crown scruptured with “Two dragons waiting for the moon”, with his kind-hearted face and imposing manners. With well carved, impressive face, dress and gestures have shaped a well-structuredly image of Lac Long Quan and Au Co coupled with 100 children, of which 50 children followed the mother to settle down at sea and found a hundred families termed as a creator the ancient kingdoms in South china.
Having been restored many times, the carved statue board is maintaining its ancient architectures as thound – year cultural creams of the nation.

With its special historical values, according to the Decision No. 2382/QD-TTg dated 25 December 2015, the Prime Minister has selected Lac Long Quan carved statue Board as national precious object. Earlier, in 2014, the Binh Da Festival in worship of National Ancestor Lac Long Quan (4-6 March) has been also recognized as National intangible cultural heritage. It is really a pride and privilege of Thanh Oai district in particular, at the same time is a responsibility in preservation and uplift of its heritage values.
